The Cultural Centre Unipoint in Tampere promotes drawing, painting and photography during its Summer exhibitions. One of the participating artists is Dutchman  Willem Miske. In his paintings Miske seeks for themes and seasonal effects, that enable him to portray nature with emotional, even poetic manner, as well as to present the own esthetic qualities. The starting point in many of Miske's works has been the exploration of his own feelings and state of mind, rather than the traditional depiction of nature. The landscapes keep the viewer at a distance, urging him to stand still and enter into the tranquil, almost mystical spirit of nature in his paintings.
